Bowie filmed a music video showing him floating above a hospital bed before he died, and now Prince fans are wondering whether he may too may have predicted his own death.
The global icon, who was found unresponsive in a lift on Thursday at his Paisley Park home near Minneapolis, bizarrely referenced an ‘elevator’ in his hit song Let’s Go Crazy, as well as telling a crowd this month to “wait a few days” before praying for him.
Fans were pictured sobbing outside of his home today, where they also linked the bad weather to his most famous song, Purple Rain.
Here’s a look at some of the weird coincidences surrounding Prince’s death..
Just days after he was rushed to hospital and struck down with flu, he threw a party for fans at his home and appeared on stage.
Although he didn’t perform, he was keen to show he was still alive and showed off his new guitar and piano.
He then told the crowd: “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Apparently Prince told fans at a recent concert, “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.” Sounds like he knew he was dying.”
In his track, Sometimes It Snows In April, he appears to sing about loss.
Lyrics include: “But sometimes sometimes life ain’t always the way… Sometimes it snows in April.”
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Sometimes it snows in April indeed. # RIPPrince your genius brought me to tears every time. I shed one for you now…”
Another added: “It snowed in April and then He died. Prince predicted his own death. # restinpeace.”
The star also eerily referenced an elevator in his hit song Let’s Go Crazy.
Lyrics include: “And if the elevator tries to break you down, go crazy, punch a higher floor!”
One fan wrote on Twitter: “prince was found in an elevator and in l et’s go crazy, prince says “if the elevator tries to break you down” and it honestly gave me chills.”
A police statement read today: “Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson reports that on April 21, 2016, at about 9:43 am, sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen. When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator.”
