Protests have erupted over the selection of former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano.
Irate youths have taken to the streets in protest setting bonfires around Kofar Nassarawa, which leads to the states government house.
Former Silver Jubilee round-about has also been blocked by protesters compelling motorists to fix leaves to their windscreens.
The town streets are being hurriedly deserted by pedestrians and motorists.
Security forces have been mobilised for crowd dispersal. Police men have been stationed in strategic round-abouts.
